The success of a session highly depends on a variety of things. Not only do you want to have a skilled photographer, but you want to ensure that your vision of the shoot is adequately communicated.
The level of communication I prefer as your photographer was well demonstrated for Mark and Mary’s engagement session at The Lemon Orchard Venue on the Lake in Thonotosassa, FL. Mark and Mary’s family wanted to ensure they planned the perfect surprise engagement for Mary. And we planned the whole thing virtually while Mark was living out of state. From the big details, like the fact that it was all a surprised engagement and Mary did not know anything, to the little things like Mark wanting to have the perfect shot of them dancing to their favorite song. All were important information for me to know, when and where to be at what time.
So you ask, what exactly do I need to communicate with my photographer?
I like to start by asking, how do you envision your session? What time of the day is it? Afternoon shoots are great for sunset beach photos while early morning shoots make wonders for family portraits. What are some things I should let my photographer know ahead of time? Is it a special occasion i.e birthday, engagement, anniversary etc.
Are you bringing any props i.e balloons, champagne, flowers etc.
Are we planning a surprise?
This will allow me to work with your goals, consider implementing your props into your session, or even hide in the bushes if I have to. Because in the end, my goal is to capture the most candid of moments.
Other things to consider before booking your photoshoot with Journeys Photography 941:
The contract must be signed before securing a date and time. Communication is imperative from start to finish and I take that very seriously. I value your time, and I want us to have a clear understanding of your expectations. Any questions or concerns will be responded to within hours, not days. I am only a call, text, or email away Whichever you prefer.
Booking is made possible on the website, so that you can secure your date and time on my website. On my calendar, you can see my full availability. If you see a time I am not available; You can always let me know. I will try my best to be available, yes I am flexible.
When booking a wedding, I like to meet the bride and groom in person at the wedding venue or video conference. This way I can get all the details, so we both can have peace of mind. For example, the timetable for the wedding, photos requests, ideas, etc. I will be there every step of the way, so don’t worry, you will be in good hands.
Payment is available through my website (book a session) giving you the option to secure date and time securely through PayPal. Whether you’re booking a portrait session or a wedding, for your convenience it’s there.
And remember, no matter how big or small the session communication is key!
